Writing on the Walls

So, my first thoughts were this:

…All it is is pictures?
…Repin? Uh.. no. Reblog.
…What even…?

After later investigation:

…All it is is pictures?
…Repin? Uh.. no. Reblog.
…Hey, I can take this and post it on tumblr.
…This is lame.

Every seven seconds, a child contemplates suicide.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death in teenagers and young-adults.

—Second only to car accidents. 

12 to 25 suicides are attempted for every 1 that follows through.

Today, a man whose son committed suicide visited my school. Today I saw a family that was torn to shreds because their kid was teased in school. 

Ty, among other children, was always smiling. To everyone, Ty appeared to be happy. 

One day, Ty was sitting in class. The kid next to him began to poke fun at Ty. When Ty finally had enough, he retaliated. Ty was the one who was caught, and later Ty was suspended. 

Ty’s mother came home to her child laying on her bedroom floor, dead. He had shot himself after the day he had at school. 

Every day we live life like bullying is no big deal. We toss people’s lives around like its nothing. We call people nicknames, and we make jokes about them. We don’t think about the consequences. 

Because of Ty, a group of kids in Oklahoma started a group called “Stand for the Silent.”  

Stand for the Silent is a suicide prevention group. A group that strives for one shared goal- for everyone to know that they are somebody.

Every single one of you out there are somebody. You mean something to someone. You have the power in you to change someone else’s life.

Take the pledge! Don’t sit around and wait for someone else to do it.
Think about it. What if it was your best friend? Your little sister? Your older brother? Would YOU be somebody?

The pledge: “From this day forward I promise to respect those around me as well as I respect myself. I am somebody, and I can make a difference. I can make another feel loved. I can be the helping hand that leads another back to a path of hope and aspiration. I will not stand silent as others try to spread hatred through my community. Instead, I pledge to lift up these victims, and show them that their life matters. I will be the change, because I am somebody.”

I finally got the chance to watch the Fade Into Me music video, and I was so taken aback!

I started watching it and BOOM. I realized it was shot in St. Louis. I just sat there and I was like, “I’VE STOOD THERE. I’VE BEEN TO THAT PLACE. HEY, DAVID, I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE.”

So excited. WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THIS? DAVID COOK WAS IN MY FAVORITE PLACE. AKLDSJF;AKE.

AND WHAT ABOUT THAT LADY’S HEART? DID IT GET FIXED? BECAUSE HER SON.. AND AWW…

AND WTF. THEY DONT’ GET ZOLA BACK? WHAT EVEN IS THIS? DOES NOT COMPUTE…

THEY’RE DOCTORS, FOR GOODNESS SAKE.

AND POOR CAREV. HE FEELS BAD BECAUSE HE GOT ZOLA TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM. HE WAS TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING! :(

OH AND TEDDY IS GOING TO BLAME HERSELF BECAUSE SHE PICKED YANG…

AND DERICK DOESN’T KNOW THAT MERIDETH IS OKAY.. HE DOESN’T KNOW!

AND POOR CALLIE… SHE THOUGHT AVERY COULD HANDLE IT. THAT LADY IS ALMOST DEAD BECAUSE SHE WAS CARELESS.
